There is an Internet meme that’s a collage of actor Mark A. Sheppard in some of his many recurring genre TV roles – as King of Hell Crowley in SUPERNATURAL, as interplanetary fence Badger in FIREFLY, as Romo Lampkin in BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, as Tanaka in DOLLHOUSE, as Benedict Valda in WAREHOUSE 13, as insurance investigator Jim Sterling in LEVERAGE, as Canton Everett Delaware III in DOCTOR WHO, to name a few. There is an accompanying caption to the effect of, “If you don’t recognize this man, turn in your geek credentials.” London-born Sheppard also has feature film credits, including IN […]Read On »

Mark Sheppard is one of television’s reigning kings of returning characters. As CW’s SUPERNATURAL fans know, Sheppard’s character Crowley was also King of Hell for awhile, though he got demoted and then almost smote when angel Castiel (Misha Collins) ascended to godhood in the Season Six finale. The London-born Sheppard will be back in SUPERNATURAL’s upcoming seventh season and recently returned as Jim Sterling in the summer finale LEVERAGE. Right now, though, he’s talking about Crowley, who started out as a Crossroads Demon – or did he? The British-born Sheppard has some interesting theories about this – but he’s wary […]Read On »

So what’s the scoop on Season 7 of SUPERNATURAL? The cast and executive producers were keeping the secrets close to the vest during their press rounds at the 2011 Comic-Con, but we were still able to get some info out of them. Executive producer Sera Gamble says that the first episode back in Season 7 will find Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) still reeling from the events of the cliffhanger that found their friend/angel Castiel (Misha Collins) turning bad. “They are reeling from what’s been going on with this character that they’ve been best friends with,” says Gamble. Cast: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Jim Beaver, Misha Collins, Mark Sheppard Writer: Eric Kripke Director: Robert Singer Network: The CW, Airs Fridays Original Telecast:  May 20, 2011 I wonder if next season we’ll get a Rapture-based episode of SUPERNATURAL – it seems like exactly the type of fare that would fit perfectly with the show. It seems like Season 6 of SUPERNATURAL has been a number of seasons put into one. First, it was Sam (Jared Padalecki) returning from Hell with no soul and working with Samuel, who was in turn working with Crowley (Mark Sheppard), to hunt and gather […]Read On »

TV Review: SUPERNATURAL – Season 6 – “Let It Bleed”

Cast: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Jim Beaver, Misha Collins, Mark Sheppard Writer: Sera Gamble Director: John F. Showalter Network: The CW, Airs Fridays Original Telecast:  May 20, 2011 The two-hour season finale of SUPERNATURAL is actually two single serving episodes that they decided to air back-to-back. The penultimate episode to Season 6, “Let it Bleed,” gives us the run-up to the final showdown – at least presumably – between the Winchesters boys and the partnership between Crowley (Mark Sheppard), king of Hades, and Castiel (Misha Collins), the boys’ favorite angel that has gone rogue in his quest to win the […]Read On »

TV Review: SUPERNATURAL – Season 6 – “Mommy Dearest”

Jensen Ackles and Samantha Smith in SUPERNATURAL - Season 6 - "Mommy Dearest" | ©2011 The CW/Jack Rowand

Cast: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Jim Beaver, Amber Benson Director: John Showalter Writers: Adam Glass Network: The CW, Airs Fridays Original Telecast: April 29, 2011 “Jefferson Starships … because they are horrible and hard to kill.” – Dean (Jensen Ackles) in SUPERNATURAL “Mommy Dearest” Dean had some great one-liners in “Mommy Dearest” on SUPERNATURAL this week. One of my other favorites was when he found out Castiel (Misha Collins) didn’t have any powers he said “Without your powers, you’re like a baby in a trench coat.” Hilarious. The Jefferson Starships line refers to Dean naming the hybrid creatures […]Read On »

During the press event for DOCTOR WHO at WonderCon 2011 in San Francisco, ASSIGNMENT X had to ask frequent SUPERNATURAL guest-star Mark Sheppard about the possibility of his character of Crowley returning to The CW show in Season 7.  Here’s what he had to say. “You can’t get rid of Crowley,” Sheppard says. “If they go to Season 7 on SUPERNATURAL, I would guess that they would bring Crowley back because the fans have been barraging the show about it. Keep doing it! If you want me back on SUPERNATURAL you have to keep pestering them.” CLICK HERE for details […]Read On »
