CHUCK, the romantic spy comedy that has lasted five seasons on NBC, draws to a close with a two-hour series finale this Friday night at 8 PM. Co-created by Chris Fedak and Josh Schwartz, CHUCK has chronicled the evolution of Zachary Levi’s Chuck Bartowski from nerdy Buy More employee to confused spy to genuine hero and husband of more experienced fellow spy Sarah Walker, played by Yvonne Strahovski. Schwartz, who previously created THE O.C. for Fox and still has GOSSIP GIRL on the CW, is now in post-production on his feature film directing debut FUN SIZE and is in pre-production […]Read On »

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin, Sarah Lancaster Writer: Nicholas Wooton Director: Buzz Feitshan IV Network: NBC, Friday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: January 20, 2012 “Chuck vs. the Bullet Train” is obviously paying an homage to all kinds of thriller train movies, with just about every train cliche except smashing through a station. And with all the back and forth, it looks like everything is coming together for one whopper of a finale next week on CHUCK, not to mention full circle. Bad guy Nicholas Quinn (Angus Macfadyen) thinks he’s got Chuck (Zachary Levi) […]Read On »

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin Writer: Kristin Newman Director: Jeremiah Chechik Network: NBC, Friday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: January 13, 2012 “Chuck Vs. Bo” starts out with Sarah (Yvonne Strahovksi) telling Chuck (Zachary Levi) that she’s had it with spying. What? The world of CHUCK without evil forces out for world domination? Not for long because Chuck makes the fatal error – he says, “one last mission.” This time it’s to recover something Morgan (Joshua Gomez) left behind while partying in Vail, Colorado, back when he was still in his buggy Intersect phase. Exclusive Interview: CHUCK star Vik Sahay on five years of being Lester

Vik Sahay in CHUCK - Season 5 - "Vs. The Hack Off" | ©2011 NBC/Matt Kennedy

For five years on CHUCK, our title hero, played by Zachary Levi, has had to juggle his secret spy life with his work life at the big-box Buy More store. All of Chuck’s work mates at the Buy More are a little eccentric, but Lester Patel, played by Vik Sahay, is borderline diabolical. At various times, Lester and his now-reformed erstwhile partner-in-crime Jeff, played by Scott Krinsky, have staged rebellions, tried to blow up the Buy More and formed the two-man band Jeffster. This season, Lester has gone to jail for trying to poison Jeff back to his old weird […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: CHUCK star Scott Krinsky clears his head and looks back on the series

On NBC’s CHUCK, now on Friday nights at 8 PM as it winds up its fifth and final season, the title hero played by Zachary Levi is still juggling his Buy More workplace and his secret identity as a spy. The spy missions can be dangerous, even deadly, but they lack one menace found only at the Buy More – the team of Jeff Barnes and Lester Patel, played respectively by Scott Krinsky and Vik Sahay. Washington,D.C.native Krinsky’s background in standup comedy has served him well in his role as Jeff, who until earlier this season has been wandering around […]Read On »

TV Review: CHUCK Season 5 “Vs. the Kept Man”

Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahovski in CHUCK - Season 5 | ©2011 NBC/Mitchell Haaseth

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin Network: NBC, Friday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: January 7, 2011 I have to say that in spite of a rocky start, this season of CHUCK is building up nicely to its finale in a few weeks. With Casey (Adam Baldwin) and Gertrude Verbanski (Carrie-Anne Moss) dancing around matters of the heart – well, we all know Casey has one even if he doesn’t – this episode, “Chuck vs. the Kept Man,” makes it seem like most of the main cast members are going to get matched up […]Read On »

TCA News: NBC says CHUCK is officially over this time

Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahovski in CHUCK - Season 5 | ©2011 NBC

No surprise here, but while at today’s NBC TCA winter press tour, NBC Entertainment President Robert Greenblatt was asked about the status of CHUCK and if it may get a last minute reprieve during its fifth and previously announced final season. Unfortunately for CHUCK fans, the ride is over. “Have you seen the ratings of CHUCK?” asks Greenblatt. “Unfortunately that rabid fan base that was going crazy on the net, didn’t come to the show. Maybe it didn’t come to the show because it was Friday, but you think they would find the show. It’s doing a 1 rating. I […]Read On »

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin Writer: Rafe Judkins and Lauren LeFranc Director: Matt Barber Network: NBC, airs Friday nights Original Telecast: December 30, 2011 For its fifth and final season CHUCK has been firing on all cylinders, wrapping up loose plot threads, bringing back important characters and essentially building up a place where our characters (we hope) will live in some sort of form of happily ever after once the finale is over. This week with “Vs. The Baby”, we’re into a very Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) centered episode. At the end […]Read On »

You also have to wonder how many of the old bad guys they’re going to rustle up in the next few episodes. Tonight, we have Daniel Shaw (Brandon Routh) back from […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: It’s Awesome to be Ryan McPartlin on CHUCK

Abigail Moore and Ryan McPartlin in CHUCK - Season 5 - "Vs. The Baby" | ©2011 NBC/Greg Gayne

Ryan McPartlin has played brother-in-law Devon Woodcomb, aka Captain Awesome, to the title hero (Zachary Levi) on five seasons of NBC’s series CHUCK, now airing Fridays at 8 PM. On the show, McPartlin’s character is a surgeon and new father who sometimes gets dragged into Chuck’s spy activities. While Chuck and his friends work with the CIA and NSA, McPartlin has rounded out his Federal acting profile with a part as historical figure Lawrence Richey, the man who introduced Clyde Tolson to Hoover, in this year’s Clint Eastwood-directed feature J. EDGAR. McPartlin also starred with Beau Bridges in the NBC […]Read On »
