Disney • Pixar held the World Premiere of MONSTERS UNIVERSITY, June 17th at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. It was a big premiere with the blue carpet running almost the whole block from Highland to Orange closing down Hollywood Blvd., which also included a Tailgate event with games and food for the guests. As usual it was lots of press, photographers and fans. Recently the FIRST ANNUAL RADIO DISNEY MUSIC AWARDS were held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. RADIO DISNEY MUSIC AWARDS (RDMAs) is a celebration of music’s most popular young artists among kids and tweens. Disney•Pixar held the World Premiere of BRAVE, part of the Los Angeles Film Festival at the Grand Opening of the Dolby Theatre (formally Kodak Theatre) in Hollywood on June 18th. VisitScotland sponsored the premiere. Everything was green like the hills of Scotland! The Director, Mark Andrews showed up wearing a kilt. Bag Pipers came down the carpet playing, which was really cool! Fans lined the street. DreamWorks Pictures held the World Premiere of REAL STEEL on October 2nd at the Gibson Amphitheatre, Universal Citywalk in Universal City. On the Citywalk stage two of the robots stood for people to take pictures with. REAL STEEL is set in the near future where 2000 lb. robot fighters have replaced humans in the boxing rings. Disney•Pixar held the World Premiere of CARS 2 at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on June 18th. Hollywood Boulevard was transformed into the World Grand Prix between Highland and Orange. Life-Size remote-controlled cars of Lightning McQueen, Mater and Finn McMissile came down the black carpet, which looked like a racetrack. Arriving at Disneyland at 4:00pm the press gathered in the Media Center, which was located inside the Mr. Lincoln’s Theater at the beginning of Main Street. Rapunzel let down her hair, finally (and in 3-D) as Disney held the World Premiere of their new animated film TANGLED at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California. It was a long backdrop that was painted to look like Rapunzel’s hair. Wigs were handed out to some of the photographers, myself included and we wore them while shooting.
