ABC’s Tuesday-night comedy THE CONNERS, now in its second season, was born when the network canceled its 2018 revival of ROSEANNE. The original ROSEANNE had run on ABC 1988-1997. The new version brought back nearly all of the original cast in their original roles, including John Goodman’s Dan Conner – who had seemingly been killed off in the final original season of ROSEANNE. The revival explained that Dan’s “death” had simply been a plot point in a story written by his aspiring novelist wife Roseanne (Roseanne Barr). At the time, Goodman said his opinion of the crafting of Dan’s return […]Read On »

ANGER MANAGEMENT has had ten successful episodes on FX basic cable. FX had made an unprecedented deal with the show’s producers, who include star Charlie Sheen – if the half-hour comedy did well enough in its initial ten, FX would pick up ninety more episodes, probably the biggest back-end order in the history of scripted TV. As ANGER MANAGEMENT creator/executive producer Bruce Helford points out, the series is produced at an accelerated speed, shooting two episodes a week. “There’s no real rehearsal for the show,” he explains. “Literally, the actors get the lines, we see the scene on its feet, […]Read On »

Even though FX has picked up the new Charlie Sheen sitcom ANGER MANAGEMENT created by Bruce Helford, President and General Manager of the FX network says that he was initially skeptical of the pitch before he heard it. “Charlie was there, as was the creator and showrunner and it was really an excellent pitch,” says Landgraf. “It’s funny, complicated and the character Charlie ought to be playing at this point. He’s playing a character who has a checkered past and wants to do more positive things in life. He has a complicated relationship with his 13-year old daughter and a […]Read On »
