On NBC’s CHUCK, now on Friday nights at 8 PM as it winds up its fifth and final season, the title hero played by Zachary Levi is still juggling his Buy More workplace and his secret identity as a spy. The spy missions can be dangerous, even deadly, but they lack one menace found only at the Buy More – the team of Jeff Barnes and Lester Patel, played respectively by Scott Krinsky and Vik Sahay. Washington,D.C.native Krinsky’s background in standup comedy has served him well in his role as Jeff, who until earlier this season has been wandering around …Read On »

Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahovski in CHUCK - Season 5 | ©2011 NBC/Mitchell Haaseth

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin Network: NBC, Friday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: January 7, 2011 I have to say that in spite of a rocky start, this season of CHUCK is building up nicely to its finale in a few weeks. With Casey (Adam Baldwin) and Gertrude Verbanski (Carrie-Anne Moss) dancing around matters of the heart – well, we all know Casey has one even if he doesn’t – this episode, “Chuck vs. the Kept Man,” makes it seem like most of the main cast members are going to get matched up …Read On »

TCA News: NBC says CHUCK is officially over this time

No surprise here, but while at today’s NBC TCA winter press tour, NBC Entertainment President Robert Greenblatt was asked about the status of CHUCK and if it may get a last minute reprieve during its fifth and previously announced final season. Unfortunately for CHUCK fans, the ride is over. “Have you seen the ratings of CHUCK?” asks Greenblatt. “Unfortunately that rabid fan base that was going crazy on the net, didn’t come to the show. Maybe it didn’t come to the show because it was Friday, but you think they would find the show. It’s doing a 1 rating. I …Read On »

This week with “Vs. The Baby”, we’re into a very Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) centered episode. At the end …Read On »

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin Writer: Amanda Kate Shuman Director: Peter Lauer Network: NBC, Friday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: December 23, 2011 On the roller coaster ride that is CHUCK this season, this week’s episode, Chuck vs. The Santa Suit, you almost have to wonder if we’re headed back into that corner it sometimes feels like the writers have written themselves into. You also have to wonder how many of the old bad guys they’re going to rustle up in the next few episodes. Tonight, we have Daniel Shaw (Brandon Routh) back from …Read On »

TV Review: CHUCK – Season 5 – “Vs. The Curse”

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin Writer: Alex Katsnelson Director: Michael Schultz Network: NBC, Friday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: December 16, 2011 There is definitely something up the sleeves of the team and producers of CHUCK this season. On one hand, it seemed as though they’d written themselves into a corner, but now with “Chuck Vs. The Curse,” it may not be a corner, but a secret passageway. But where that passageway is leading is beyond me. At the end of last week’s episode, the team at Carmichael Industries – the private spy company …Read On »

TV Review: CHUCK – Season 5 – “Vs. The Hack Off”

Scott Krinsky, Danny Pudi and Joshua Gomez in CHUCK - Season 5 - "Vs. The Hack Off" | ©2011 NBC/Matt Kennedy

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin Writer: Craig DiGregorio Director: Zachary Levi Network: NBC, Friday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: December 9, 2011 “Chuck vs. the Hack Off” is star Zachary Levi’s third time behind the cameras on CHUCK, and I’m thinking he’s got his next career move lined up for himself. It truly helps that he gets the show from its DNA, but this was one slick episode, filled with those little bits that leave you smiling when you catch them. So, when we last left the independent spies of Carmichael Industries, Casey had just …Read On »

TV Review: CHUCK – Season 5 – “Vs. The Business Trip”

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin Writer: Kristin Newman Director: Allan Kroeker Network: NBC, Friday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: November 18, 2011 Now, “Vs. The Business Trip” is more like the CHUCK we’ve known and loved all these past five seasons. With a CIA hit put out on Morgan (Joshua Gomez) because he’s been telling everyone he has the Intersect, that CIA database imprinted in the brain that Chuck (Zachary Levi) used to have, General Beckman (Bonita Friedericy) comes and takes it away. End of problem, right? Chuck and Sarah go back trying to …Read On »

TV Review: CHUCK – Season 5 – “Vs. The Frosted Tips”

Yvonne Strahovski, Zachary Levi and Adam Baldwin in CHUCK - Season 5 - "Vs. The Frosted Tips" | ©2011 NBC/Jordin Althaus

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin Writer: Phil Klemmer Director: Paul Marks Network: NBC, Friday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: November 11, 2011 I think it’s safe to say that among the CHUCK faithful, it’s pretty universally acknowledged that letting Morgan (Joshua Gomez) have the Intersect (basically all the CIA and NSA intelligence downloaded into the brain) was a massive, colossal mistake. And while last week’s episode seemed to cement that opinion with Morgan acting like a complete and total jerk, it did end with a tiny glimmer of hope that there might be something more …Read On »
