Comic-Con 2011 News: Spider-Man will not be a part of any future THE AVENGERS movies according to producer Avi Arad

This one is a kind of a no-brainer, but for anyone wondering if the Spider-Man character would ever appear in a future THE AVENGERS team-up movie, don’t hold your breath. First of all, even though Marvel (and now Disney) owns the character, it’s currently licensed to Sony Pictures, which makes it harder to extract him for a movie at another studio. Comic book legend Stan Lee and world-renowned recording artist Toshiki have partnered up for a new superhero comic book series BLOOD RED DRAGON which is being released through Todd McFarlane’s Image Comics. There hasn’t been too much news on the SPAWN reboot movie front in some time, but at today’s San Diego Comic-Con, SPAWN creator Todd McFarlane spoke about the status of the new film. “We’re just finishing the script and we producers coming in and have a big actor we’re talking too,” adds McFarlane.
