INCEPTION – The science fiction fantasy movie is no doubt going to be the most popular title of the week. There is a ton of stuff to digest in the movie and I think watching it once is almost doing the film an injustice. Actually, it might take more than one viewing to actually “get” what is happening. In this world, dreams are no longer just our own but used to extract information from others and learn secrets of the people in high power positions. But along with any supernatural situation, the dangers while in the dream world are as real as they are in the real world.

I blame AVATAR for this whole thing. AVATAR, you owe the world an apology. You came out last year with the most amazing 3-D and now every crapsterpiece movie that comes out is in 3-D. Sure, there were movies that did 3-D before AVATAR, and some of them did it well (CORALINE). But ever since AVATAR the movie studios have started releasing even more movies in 3-D hoping to capture some of those unobtainum dollars. We were all horrified yesterday when Warner Bros. announced they were going to do a big-screen reboot of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. Being major fans of the Joss Whedon-created TV series, and with him having no involvement in the project, it’s clear there’s more nightmare announcements ahead that will send us fans screaming under the bed until this horrible nightmare is over.
