AMERICA’S GOT TALENT went to Tampa, Bay, Florida and found some good, some bad and some very, very bad acts as the series continues with its Season 7 audition rounds.

Inspire the Fire was of the former — a singing and dancing group who re-interpreted the hit song “Lean on Me” with a hip-hop feel brought the audience to their feet. The judges – Howie Mandel, Sharon Osbourne and the newly crowned king of all judges Howard Stern all agreed. Osbourne thought she was already watching a Broadway show. Mandel thought their act was phenomenal. And Stern, well, he said he hated GLEE but loved them. With a yes from all three judges and the group was sent off to Vegas.

The NC (North Carolina) Bikini Bombshells, on the other hand, were sent home. Scantily clad in bikini tops and skin tight nylon shorts, the quartet attempted to make a dance act out of their sex appeal. The problem – they can’t dance! Stern and Osbourne tried to stop them from their own embarrassment with buzzes early on but Mandel refused to extinguish the hilarity of their incompetency. Still, all three voted no to the pretty rhythm-impaired girls.

All That, a surprisingly good clogging group literally kicked butt. Their feet were moving so fast and in sync it was a miracle how good it sounded and looked. They were unanimously voted through as was a hula artist, a magician/illusionist and a group of contemporary male dancers.

However, escape artist Michael Griffin seemed to have illusions of grandeur. After inviting Stern on stage to tie him up he convulsed and wiggled, knocking himself onto the stage floor, wrangling out of the rope while we uncomfortably watched. Not because he took too long or because he didn’t complete the act, but rather because his expressions and body movements looked quite unpleasant. Before he finished his 26 seconds accomplishment, all three judges buzzed him.

The Distinguished Men of Brass, who organized their brass band after all of them were laid off, were a sight for sore eyes. The gentlemen entertained all while securing themselves a place in Las Vegas.

Ulysses, a 70s & 80s theme show singer almost didn’t make the trip. After belting out the theme to THE LOVE BOAT, Stern laughed but 86’ed him. Thanks to Mandel and Osbourne, though, He’s moving on!

Stay tuned!
