After being one of the anchors on Monday nights for nine seasons, the CBS sitcom TWO AND A HALF MEN is moving to Thursdays at 8:30 after THE BIG BANG THEORY this fall.

The series, which stars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones alongside Ashton Kutcher (who joined the show last season after Charlie Sheen’s departure) is still considered a very important asset to the network and at today’s Summer 2012 CBS Press Tour, CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler spoke about the time slot change.

“We had a very strong comedy development and we had some difficult choices to make,” says Tassler. “The idea to move TWO AND A HALF MEN to Thursday night, here we have the hottest comedy on air at 8:00 pm and it’s smart to put a top rated comedy after it. It gives Thursday a whole new boost and it’s a smart move. We were excited by TWO AND A HALF MEN last year and looking forward to it remaining good and strong coming into this season.”
